NEW PDR8000® RACKMOUNT REPEATER

August 15, 2021

  • Share on:

San Antonio, August 15, 2021– Futurecom Systems Group, ULC today announced introduction of the PDR8000® Rackmount Repeater, a new form factor based on its successfully deployed and field-proven suitcase PDR8000 Portable Digital Repeater. The PDR8000 Rackmount Repeater is intended to be installed in a fixed location to fill in difficult radio coverage areas for first responders and special operations teams.

Designed to fit in a standard 19-inch shelf configuration, the PDR8000 Rackmount Repeater provides flexibility for users who wish to install it in their own supplied cabinet or server racks. The rack shelf provides room for the PDR8000 transceiver, duplexer and optional 50-watt amplifier and alarm contacts.

A standard for all form factors of the PDR8000, the Rackmount includes a front display control panel, allowing technicians to set operational field parameters.

In addition to the new PDR8000 Rackmount, Futurecom will now offer optional Ethernet connectivity to its line of PDR8000s, which provides P25 and Analog communications over IP using TIA Digital Fixed Station Interface (DFSI) protocol. Available at time of order or as a field upgrade, the optional DFSI connectivity feature provides voice calls either analog or digital (clear and encrypted), along with a number of features from dispatch console and vice versa.

“The PDR8000 Rackmount Repeater adds to Futurecom’s list of coverage gap solutions, ensuring first responders can depend on radio communications wherever the job takes them,” stated Brett Vinciguerra, Director of Business Development.

The PDR8000 Rackmount Repeater is available in VHF and UHF bands and will be available for order and shipping in early Q4 2021, along with the DFSI connectivity option.

The PDR8000 Rackmount Repeater is sold worldwide exclusively through Motorola Solutions, a leading provider of mission-critical communication solutions and services for public safety and commercial customers.

The terms “market leader” and “industry standard” are used by many companies because of their ambiguity. At Futurecom, the belief is “show us,” don’t “tell us.” Futurecom’s radio coverage solutions are actively deployed by more than 800 agencies worldwide. Thousands of units have been in service for over 15 years.

When first responders need RF coverage, they bring Futurecom.
